VC-10 G-ASIX photo by Richard British Airways eastbound international flight climbs sharply out of London\'s Heathrow Airport, high above the tail of one of its ancestors, a Vickers VC10, at Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey, England. The VC10 was the largest jet aircraft to be built completely in the UK. This example, G-ASIX, was constructed at Brooklands in 1964 (when the site was a British Aircraft Corporation factory), and subsequently operated by British United Airways and British Caledonian until 1974, when it was purchased by the Omani government as personal transport as the Sultan of Oman\'s personal transport. Some people get all the nice perks! It returned to its birthplace in 1987 to become an exhibit. Taken on January 24, 2008.

<p><span>G-ASIX -  Type V.1103  - Serial No 820 ( Loch Maree )  I fondly remember being down at  Gatwick airport this particular day as it was my first excursion with any kind of telephoto lens, in this case a Soligor 200mm. </span></p><p><span>We were able to park the car by the road and shoot over a low fence.
