No I didn't know the gentleman you named, but I remember with great affection the Prince of Wales club. I played lots of tennis there and also as a guest represented the club in matches. I joined BUA in 1960 on the Britannia and flew the VC10 and B707 on the South American route retiring from BA in 1989. The South American slip pattern was great with stops in Las Palmas, Rio, and Santiago the whole trip lasted about 2 weeks, them was the days!!
